VELVETEEN FILMS
Velveteen Films, Inc. was formed in 1999, with offices in both Boston, MA and NY, NY and has since completed three feature films, with several others in development.

The company's first feature film, “The Gypsy Years”, was written and directed by Rebecca Cook and produced by Courtney Dubois. The film was shot in Waltham, MA on digital video, and stars Matthew Del Negro, LG Taylor, Chad Beckim, Christopher Jewitt and Jacqueline Anderson. “The Gypsy Years” enjoyed a successful festival life, screening around the country.

Velveteen Films second feature film, “The Chester Story” (later retitled “A Touch of Fate”), was shot on 35mm in Wilmington, NC in 2001, produced by Courtney Dubois and Richard Sirianni, and starred Teri Hatcher (TV’s “Desperate Housewives”). The film was released through Porchlight Entertainment where it sold to DVD in the US and internationally. It also aired on Starz, the Lifetime Network and Sky Movies UK. “The Chester Story” is currently in syndication.

The company’s third film, “Shooting Livien”, was shot in New York, NY in 2003, and featured a stellar cast including Jason Behr (“The Grudge”), Dominic Monaghan (ABC’s “Lost”), Sarah Wynter (Fox’s “24”), Joshua Leonard (“The Blair Witch Project”), and Ally Sheedy (“The Breakfast Club”). "Shooting Livien" world premiered at the 2005 SXSW Film Festival in competition, and went on to win the Audience favorite award at the 2005 Philadelphia Film Festival. TLA Releasing distributed the film on DVD in May 2006, and the film made its television premiere on SHOWTIME, where it can still be seen.

REBECCA COOK
Rebecca Cook wrote and directed Velveteen Films' high def feature, “Shooting Livien,” starring Jason Behr (“The Grudge”), Dominic Monaghan (ABC’s “Lost”), Sarah Wynter (Fox’s “24”), Ally Sheedy (“High Art”), and Joshua Leonard (“The Blair Witch Project”), which was distributed by TLA Releasing in 2006. Currently, Rebecca has several other scripts in development, including “Hickory Nation”, which will be produced with Velveteen Films.

Rebecca also wrote and directed the 35 mm feature film, “The Chester Story,” (later retitled “A Touch of Fate”) starring Teri Hatcher (ABC’s “Desperate Housewives”), distributed by PorchLight Entertainment abroad and domestically through Outrider Pictures. Previous to this, Rebecca also wrote and directed her short film, “Nipply Ray,” and a low budget feature, “The Gypsy Years”, both of which enjoyed festival screenings around the country.

Rebecca graduated from Bates College with a Bachelor's degree in English and a Secondary Concentration in both Creative Writing and French. After college, Rebecca moved to Los Angeles to work with both Disney and ZM productions, in addition to working as a freelance script reader and associate producer. Rebecca spent a year thereafter in Boston as a researcher and assistant to documentary producer Charles Stuart, before moving to New York City to pursue employment with Sauce Entertainment. In 2000, Rebecca co-founded Velveteen Films Inc. with three other partners and presently resides in Massachusetts where she develops projects with the company and works as a freelance writer.

BEN CAMMARATA
Ben Cammarata is Chairman of The TJX Companies, Inc. Having founded the T.J. Maxx chain in 1976, Mr. Cammarata led TJX to its position as the leading off-price retailer of apparel and home fashions in the U.S. and worldwide. TJX, with over $10 billion in sales and 89,000 associates, continues to expand the off-price concept through the T.J. Maxx, Marshalls, HomeGoods and A.J. Wright chains in the U.S., Winners and HomeSense in Canada, and T.K. Maxx, in Europe.

From 1976 to 1986, Mr. Cammarata was President of T.J. Maxx. In 1987, he became President and Chief Executive Officer of The TJX Companies, a position which he held until 1999. In 1999, Mr. Cammarata became Chairman of TJX and served as Chairman and CEO until 2000. Earlier in his career, Mr. Cammarata was Vice President and General Merchandise Manager of Marshalls, a division of Melville Corp. Having begun his career at J.W. May’s Inc., in Brooklyn, New York, his experience in off-price apparel and home fashions retailing spans three decades.

Mr. Cammarata is also a Trustee of Bentley College, where he holds an Honorary Doctor of Commercial Science Degree. In addition, he serves as Trustee of the Lahey Clinic, as well as being a Director of Heritage Property Investment Trust, Inc. In 2002, he became a Partner in the new ownership of The Boston Red Sox. In addition, Mr. Cammarata is active in numerous philanthropic causes.

NICK EDNEY
Nick is currently a vice president at Laurel Ridge Asset Management in New york, the management company for Laurel Ridge Partners LLP. Laurel Ridge Partners LLP is a multi strategy hedge fund investing in various arbitrage strategies such as volatility, merger, convertible bond and capital structure. Nick's responsibilities include credit analysis, general industry research and analysis, trade idea generation and position maintenance.

Nick's past professional experiences include three years in the proprietary trading group at Bank of America in New York. Nick was a co portfolio manager for two years, and a senior analyst for one. Strategies included merger arbitrage, convertible arbitrage and relative value. Prior to bank of America, he spent four years doing financial analysis and valuation work in the Economic Consulting group at KPMG LLP, in New York and Denver. Prior to KPMG, he spent two years in Washington, D.C. doing antitrust analysis for Economists Inc. He holds an MBA in Finance from the Stern School of Business at New York University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics, with a minor in Spanish, from Bates College. Nick spent a semester of college study in Valencia, Spain, and spent his high school years at Brentwood School, in Brentwood, England, where he is originally from.

Nick Edney executive produced “The Chester Story” and “Shooting Livien”, and will executive produce Velveteen's next film, “Hickory Nation”.

JAMIE SELWAY
Jamie is a founder and Managing Director of White Cap Trading LLC, an institutional brokerage located in Manhattan. At White Cap, Jamie is responsible for administration, finance, and research. He has written articles published in both industry press and academic journals, and has been quoted in the Wall Street Journal and the Financial Times.

Before forming White Cap, Jamie was Chief Economist at Archipelago Holdings LLC, the Chicago-based electronic brokerage firm and creator of the first totally open, fully electronic U.S. stock exchange. Jamie served a variety of functions at Archipelago, including strategy, quantitative research, regulatory and governmental liaison, and new business development.

Jamie's past professional experiences include the Equity Derivatives Research group of Goldman, Sachs & Co. (New York), three years in Economic Research at the National Association of Securities Dealers, Inc. (Washington), and two years at Economists, Inc. (Washington), where he worked with Nick Edney. He holds a MS in Financial Mathematics from the University of Chicago and BA in Mathematics and European History from Washington & Lee University, Phi Beta Kappa.
